Dreissigacker's "Wunderwerk" range consists of slightly more concentrated wines that are left to ferment for longer than usual and allowed to mature in 500 litre barrels. They thus tend to be more full-bodied than wine estate- and terroir-grown wines. The varieties include Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. In addition, there is a Wunderwerk Pinot Blanc that is exclusively bottled for Sansibar.

A plethora of pleasure

If you are looking for a Pinot Blanc that is more than just a light, refreshing summer drink, the 2018 Wunderwerk vintage should be just your thing. Considerable sensitivity and care have gone into the decision to halve the quantity harvested and to select the time of harvesting on the basis of the flavour of the grapes; these are then picked by hand, crushed using bare feet and the must is then careful processed. Although the resultant Pinot Blanc is more concentrated after fermentation for almost 24 months, it retains a remarkable freshness and bouquet in which clear woody notes are detectable, providing it with an enhanced weight. A wine that lives up to its name - Wunderwerk literally means "miracle" - and is the perfect accompaniment to robust dishes.
