The Ju 52 was added to the Lufthansa fleet in 1932 and quickly became the backbone of the German airline before the Second World War. The last 'Aunt Ju' operated by Lufthansa, D-AQUI, was finally taken out of commercial service at the end of 2018, more than eighty years after its maiden flight.
