This rich and complex whisky is matured in former bourbon and sherry barrels before it is finished in ruby port barrels. After 16 years of ageing, the result is a unique, fruity aroma and a ruby-red colour. The spicy nose unfolds notes of walnut, leather, fennel seed and blackcurrant with subtle hints of ginger and smoke. On the palate, the sweetness of brown sugar and chocolate caramel is rounded off by aromas of walnut, oak and salt. The finish is long and smoky.
