Fiskars: A company celebrates centuries of pride, passion & design

Fiskars was founded in Finland in 1649 as a blacksmith’s shop and is now a leading supplier of consumer products with brands of worldwide renown. The company’s global ambition is to enrich people’s lives in home and garden with its Finnish design classics.

The scissors with the orange handles can be attributed to a coincidence: The machinist happened to have some orange left over and decided to use it for the first prototypes. Since they caught on so well, production was continued with that colour. Fiskars Orange® was officially registered as a trademark in Finland in 2003. Nowadays, Fiskars products are available in more than 100 countries. Many tools have been awarded prizes such as the Red Dot Design Award or the Good Design Award.
