Riedel

The Riedel family's glassmaking tradition began in Bohemia in 1756 and found a new home in Kufstein, Tyrol, in 1957. For generations, their dedication to glass as a material and their drive for perfection have been characteristic.

In 1973, Claus J. Riedel (9th generation) launched the world-famous ‘wine-friendly’ glasses, now known as Sommeliers. These designs became the industry standard for functional wine glasses.

Riedel developed into the leading company for functional wine glasses, with successful designs by Georg J. Riedel (10th generation) and Maximilian J. Riedel (11th generation). Today, Riedel is synonymous worldwide with perfect drinking glassware.
