Vat 1 is a particularly rounded and elegant single malt. It matures in Spanish sherry casks, the contents of which are continually 'married' in the large Solera Vat 1, which is never fully emptied. This combines the sweet and spicy notes in a unique way. It creates a soft whisky with additional depths due to its extra maturation in bourbon and red wine casks. Vat 1 is a golden shade of autumnal barley; on the nose, it features the scent of summer flowers with delicate vanilla, oak and citrus nuances. On the palate, it is very soft; oak wood notes and the typical Glenfiddich character are skilfully balanced.
