Pinotage is a South African grape variety which is used to make intense, soft red wines with a velvety texture. The Kanonkop Estate Wine from Stellenbosch has a light red colour. Its bouquet reveals the scent of plum, blueberry and vanilla, along with accents of liquorice and roasted nuts as well as smoky notes. Lush flavours of plum, cherry, dark chocolate and spicy oak develop on the palate. The well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity provide a lovely balance, right through to the long finish. An elegant wine with excellent ageing potential.
