Charles Smith is an unconventional winemaker. Formerly the manager of a rock band, he discovered his love of viticulture while living in Europe for a time. After returning to the USA, he began producing his premium single-varietal wines in the early 2000 s in the state of Washington. His rule: all-natural grapes, honest production, no compromises. The balanced, full-bodied Kung Fu Girl Riesling is a magnificent example of the results this produces. It's name, by the way, also hints at the fact that it pairs perfectly with Asian cuisine.
