Accessibility Statement:
Worldshop from Miles & More
Requirements
This accessibility statement is applicable to the Miles & More website published at https://www.worldshop.eu.
As a company, we endeavour to make our websites, mailings and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the provisions of the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) and the German Ordinance to the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSGV) implementing the European Accessibility Directive (Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services).
Status of compatibility with the requirements
The accessibility requirements are set out in the Ordinance to the Accessibility Improvement Act.
The specific requirements for accessibility have been implemented in accordance with Section 14 of the Accessibility Improvement Act in conjunction with Section 3(1) of the Accessibility Improvement Act in the Ordinance to the Accessibility Improvement Act.
Information on services that meet accessibility requirements
Worldshop is the official online shop of the Lufthansa Group, where customers can purchase a wide range of high-quality products using award miles or cash. The range extends from luggage, electronics and lifestyle items to exclusive offers for frequent flyers.
The shop is aimed at Miles & More members as well as other interested parties who would like to discover and buy travel, technology, living and leisure products. Besides the online shop, Worldshop also operates stationary shops at selected airports in Germany.
Compliance status
The specific technical measures are based on WCAG 2.1 Level A, AA.
The verification of compliance with the requirements is based on an external assessment (the content has been assessed by an external organisation that is not involved in the design and development of the product).
People with disabilities were included in the assessment of accessibility.
The Miles & More Worldshop website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at compliance levels A and AA. This means that many requirements have been met, but some content is not yet fully accessible.
Content that is not fully accessible
The following content and functions are not yet fully compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1:
- The accessible design of animations and moving images is currently being implemented and is being continuously improved.
- Not all images and graphics relevant to understanding currently have alternative texts.
- For some controls, the accessible name does not match the visible name.
- Older PDF documents may not be accessible.
- In exceptional cases, texts on images may have insufficient colour contrast.
- Success criterion 3.1.2 “Language of Parts” is interpreted to mean that language changes are marked for longer text passages, but not for individual words.
- Tables are gradually being made fully accessible.
- The accessible design of the form fields, including the error messages, is currently being revised and is gradually being optimised.
- Support for text enlargement up to 200% is being improved further in all areas.
- Older videos and podcasts may not have subtitles or audio descriptions.
- We use complex drag & drop components in some cases. It is possible that we have not yet implemented an accessible version here. This will be done as soon as possible.
- Some information on energy efficiency labels may currently not be fully accessible barrier-free. We are already working on a solution to improve the accessibility of this content soon.
Reliance on technology
Website accessibility was tested using the following browsers and found to be compatible: Google Chrome™, Mozilla Firefox and common screen readers. Our tests are based on the following usage statistics: webaim.org/projects/screenreadersurvey10
