We give aviation materials a new lease of life with our Upcycling Collections from Lufthansa, Austrian and SWISS! By collaborating with the airlines and various European producers, we have been creating limited-edition accessories and items of furniture from aircraft skin, headrest covers and uniforms since 2019. Now you can discover the first SWISS Upcycling Collection as well as new highlights from the Lufthansa Upcycling Collection. There are also exclusive insights from Budapest that show how aircraft parts are carved out and turned into items of furniture, which are now available here.

News from the Lufthansa Upcycling Collection

This year, in Budapest, the first A321-131 with the registration D-AIRD and featuring the new Lufthansa livery was carved up for our Upcycling Collection. After almost 30 years of service, this aeroplane has now been turned into exclusive furniture and accessories just for you. Discover the first unique pieces made from the iconic SWISS Airbus A321 with the registration HB-IOC. “IOC” stands for International Olympic Committee, as the plane was emblazoned with the Olympic rings for a year. After 27 years of service, the HB-IOC landed for the last time in Zürich in 2022. The uniqueness of this handmade collection is down to its minimalist design and the functionality of the accessories, which can still be recognised as former aircraft parts, bringing the spirit of aviation into your home.

A second chance for the Airbus A340-600

It all happens on the high plateaus of Aragon in Spain. This is where we dismantle all our decommissioned aeroplanes in partnership with the company Tarmac Aerosave. Using a wire-saw “cheese cutter”, the aircraft are precisely divided into their individual components. Later, our numerous European partners use them to create unique collector’s items from coffee tables to keyrings.

A big role for a small detail

The wingtip fences on aeroplane wings are as unique as a pair of twins. For every aeroplane we decommission, precisely two wall shelves are made from this dynamic duo – and they are guaranteed to make heads turn! As they get snapped up pretty quickly, we’re giving you exclusive backstage access to see how these unique specimens are created.
