For the Rosé Vintage 2017, the house of Louis Roederer chose Pinot Noir grapes from a warm region and Chardonnay grapes from a cooler region with calcareous soil. Both the full-bodied, juicy ripeness of the Pinot Noir and the mineral freshness of the Chardonnay were retained during assemblage. This has resulted in a gentle yet lively Champagne. In the glass, it shimmers salmon pink. The bouquet develops aromas of redcurrants, wild raspberries and blood orange, which are joined by slightly spicy, resinous and salty notes. On the palate, the Champagne is silky and fruity with chocolate and limy hints in the long finish.
